Privacy
In short: you control what other people can see. Location, profile fields, images and visit history are used only for LinkUUp features you choose. The current app has no advertising or analytics trackers and does not sell personal data.
1. Controller

2. Data and purposes
- Account: username, email, password hash and session data for registration, login, security and account administration.
- Profile: data, text and images you provide. Each visibility-enabled field can be limited in settings to everyone, members, friends or nobody.
- Location: only after browser/device permission, for distance, nearby places and access to local chats. The current position is processed for the live connection. In addition, the last reported position is stored in the database against your account and replaced when a new position is received. It is also used to check distances for the Cuddle feature. Closing the app or revoking location permission does not automatically delete this stored value. Exact coordinates are not published as a movement profile. Visit history is a separate profile function governed by your visibility setting.
- Chats, comments, ratings, friendships and cuddles: to provide the chosen social function, visible to the people authorised by that function.
- Technical security data: IP address, timestamps, browser/device data and error/server logs for delivery, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
3. Legal basis, recipients and retention
We process data to provide the account and chosen features (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), based on consent for optional permissions such as location or optional profile data (Art. 6(1)(a)), and for security and abuse prevention (Art. 6(1)(f)). Recipients are necessary hosting/IT providers, authorised LinkUUp users according to your visibility choices and bodies where legally required. Account data are stored until account deletion; content and technical data only as long as necessary for function, security, legal claims or statutory obligations. A username, email address and password are required to register an account.
4. Your choices and rights
You can revoke location permission in browser/device settings at any time; location-based features will then be limited. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it. To request deletion of a previously stored position, contact info@linkuup.de. You can change profile visibility in settings and delete your own images and content in the app. You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and complaint. 5. Cookies and external links
Necessary session/security cookies are used for login and the service you request. Non-essential cookies or similar device access will only be used with required consent. Third-party map, website or social-media links open only when you choose them and are governed by the third party's privacy rules.
6. No automated decisions
LinkUUp does not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you. Technical location checking only determines whether the local-chat feature you select is available.
